LETTER TO MYSELF
Dear future me,
I think I use this more as a diary I won’t be able to read for another year? I sent out one of these a long time ago when I was 22 years old. How’s the future for me, anyway? Where Am I living? What music do I like? Would I really have the same friends that I used to have? Which kind of job are you getting? Have you always dream of being in a position? The future is pretty dark.
You’ve may be entered that strange and beautiful group of people between middle age and elderly. You’re not a super young guy, but neither are you mature. You’ve come a very long way from thirty.
Congratulations!
I am sure you’ve grown enough to realize that life is precious and delicate. It has to be proudly lived and treated with respect. You realize, it’s not about you as much as it is about living for someone bigger than you. I’m sure you’ve done far more than you expected, but the underlying goal behind all these successes was to make a difference in the world.
Maybe now you are working under a department and have a great job. Not only that or maybe you have your own family with beautiful kids and lovely husband. I am happy to see you where you are right now. So bold yet humble, so free yet always striving to be better, so amazed by what you know and even more surprised by what you don’t. You’re not getting old; you’re just getting older. You’ve grown up and you continue to grow and improve and make a mark on the world for good. And I’m crazy proud of you for that.
I hope that you’ll be continue to be the best version of yourself and may God bless you in your future undertakings.
